RitFit PVC-Coated Round Dumbbells Review: A Splash of Style Meets Everyday Strength
We had the pleasure of meeting the RitFit team at Home Gym Con this year, and they kindly sent us a set of their PVC-Coated Round Dumbbells along with one of their pink benches and dumbbell racks. The unboxing alone made a statement—bright pink accents, solid build, and a commercial-gym look with a home-gym feel. We received dumbbells in 5 lb, 10 lb, 15 lb, 20 lb, and 25 lb, giving us plenty of variety for upper body work, accessory lifts, and general training.
If you’re outfitting a garage gym, home studio, or even a boutique fitness space and looking for something that performs well and looks good, these dumbbells may be worth a serious look.
The price point starts around 30+ cents per pound for a 5 lb set and the cost per pound goes down slightly as you go up in weight.
Shipping & Packaging
One thing that really stood out was how fast these arrived. RitFit offers free shipping with 3-day delivery within the U.S., and they definitely delivered on that promise—literally.
Each dumbbell arrived in a pair, with each individual dumbbell packaged in its own box and wrapped in a protective plastic bag. The packaging was clean, secure, and efficient—no loose items rattling around or damage during transit. It’s a small detail, but it shows RitFit takes care in making sure their products reach you in top shape.
Specs & Options
RitFit offers these dumbbells individually from 5 lb all the way up to 60 lb, increasing in 5 lb increments. They also offer three set bundles:
- 150 lb set (5-25 lb pairs)
- 230 lb set (5-40 lb pairs)
- 300 lb set (5-50 lb pairs)
What sets them apart visually is the option to get the dumbbells with either white or pink lettering. Ours came in pink, and paired with the pink bench and dumbbell rack they sent, it’s a vibe that will appeal to fitness fans who want a little personality in their training setup.
First Impressions
Out of the box, the dumbbells feel solid and well-constructed. The round heads are evenly coated in thick PVC, which helps protect floors and reduces noise during use. The finish is easy to clean and has a semi-gloss sheen that doesn’t show smudges or chalk like rubber hex dumbbells can.
The handles are lightly knurled and chrome-plated—smooth enough for higher-rep work, but grippy enough to keep from slipping during pressing or curls. There’s a nice balance to each dumbbell, and they racked easily on our existing storage system.
Do They Smell Like Rubber?
Hey Tom do the dumbbells smell at all?
One of the most common concerns with new gym equipment—especially dumbbells—is the smell. Many rubber-coated weights have a strong, lingering odor that can take over your home gym or garage. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case here.
Despite the PVC coating, these dumbbells had virtually no noticeable smell right out of the box. We even had someone ask if they smelled like rubber, and honestly, we didn’t pick up anything at all. That’s a big plus if you’re working out in a closed space like a basement, bedroom, or studio where odors tend to linger.
Training Experience
We put these dumbbells through a variety of workouts, from standard strength training to conditioning sessions and bench accessory work.
Highlights:
- Comfortable in hand – The handle diameter feels natural, not too thick or thin, and the round head design allows for fluid transitions between exercises.
- Quiet and floor-safe – Thanks to the PVC coating, these dumbbells are quieter than steel or rubber-coated alternatives. They’re perfect for early-morning or apartment workouts.
- No rolling – While they are round, the heads are wide and stable enough that we didn’t experience any annoying rolling between sets.
- Great for supersets and circuits – The lighter weights (5–25 lb) were ideal for shoulder work, curls, triceps extensions, and dumbbell snatches. They’re versatile and look great doing it.
Design & Durability
Aesthetics aside, these dumbbells are built to last. The heads are welded securely to the handle (not bolted), meaning you won’t deal with that annoying rattle some budget dumbbells develop over time. The PVC coating has held up well to repeated use without cracking or peeling—something we’ll continue to monitor over time.
Tapered Handle Design
One subtle but appreciated feature of the RitFit PVC-Coated Round Dumbbells is the tapered handle. Unlike many straight-bar dumbbells, the handle here gradually widens toward the center. This ergonomic design provides a more natural grip and better control during movements like curls, lateral raises, and presses.
The taper gives your hand a solid point of contact without feeling bulky or overly aggressive. Combined with the light knurling, it strikes a great balance between comfort and grip—making them ideal for both high-rep workouts and heavier lifts (within the available weight range).
Bonus points for the clearly marked weight indicators on both ends. Whether stored on a rack or stacked on the floor, you can easily see what weight you’re grabbing.
Who These Are Perfect For
- Garage/home gym owners who want durable, floor-friendly dumbbells.
- Fitness studios looking for attractive dumbbells that align with their brand (especially if pink or white accents match your vibe).
- Beginners to intermediate lifters who want a high-quality dumbbell experience without the noise or wear of steel or urethane.
- Fitness influencers and content creators—these dumbbells pop on camera.
Things to Consider
- Round vs. Hex: If you prefer dumbbells that don’t roll at all, hex-style might be better. However, these round heads are stable and didn’t give us trouble in our tests.
- No heavy weights above 60 lb: Advanced lifters may eventually outgrow this set if they rely heavily on dumbbells for heavy presses or rows.
- Storage: These do take up a bit more space than compact pro-style dumbbells, especially in full sets. Plan for a good storage rack if you’re buying a bundle. RitFit offers a dumbbell storage option that holds 5 dumbbell sets. It is made from Aluminum so it is really light, but offers some great space savings rather than having the dumbbells on the floor.
Final Thoughts
The RitFit PVC-Coated Round Dumbbells strike a great balance between function, form, and fun. They’re well-built, quiet, and floor-friendly—and the choice of pink or white lettering adds personality that most dumbbells just don’t offer.
We could easily see them going with an all pink version for those who absolutely love pink.
If you’re building a home gym and want equipment that performs and stands out, these deserve a spot on your shortlist.
