Torque Fitness Announces TANK SX: New SX Mode, More Resistance, and a 303-Pound Build
Torque Fitness is expanding its sled lineup with the TANK SX, a four-wheel magnetic resistance sled featuring the new SX Mode, rear-swivel wheels, and multi-position handles. Priced at $2,699, the standalone sled is currently available to reserve, with Torque listing shipping for early 2027.

The SX brings together higher resistance and greater maneuverability, giving athletes options for straight-line pushes, changes of direction, and wheelbarrow movements in one machine.
What Is the New SX Mode?
The TANK SX offers five resistance settings: four standard levels plus SX Mode. Torque describes SX Mode as the highest resistance setting it has developed, taking the challenge beyond the TANK MX.
Like other TANK sleds, the SX uses Mag-Force magnetic resistance, which increases as you move faster. Rather than relying on stacks of weight plates to create the workout, the sled responds to your effort. Dual brakes are controlled by a single adjustment lever, allowing users to change resistance quickly between exercises or athletes.
Torque has not published a percentage increase for SX Mode over MX Mode on the product pages reviewed. For now, the company’s claim is that the SX delivers greater maximum resistance.
TANK SX Weight Compared With the MX and M3
At 303 pounds, the TANK SX is substantially heavier than both the MX and M3.
| Model | Listed Product Weight | Difference From SX |
|---|---|---|
| TANK SX | 303 lb / 137.4 kg | — |
| TANK MX | 244 lb / 111 kg | SX is 59 lb heavier |
| TANK M3 | 209 lb / 94.8 kg | SX is 94 lb heavier |
These are Torque’s listed product weights, rather than shipping weights or weights with additional plates loaded.
That makes the SX approximately 24% heavier than the MX and 45% heavier than the M3. For home gym owners, the added mass is worth considering when planning storage and moving the sled between training areas.
Torque says the SX’s weight distribution provides traction for pushing without added plates. For towing and pulling, additional weight may help if the tires skid. The frame includes integrated weight horns for that purpose.
Rear-Swivel Wheels Expand the Training Options
The SX also changes how a four-wheel TANK moves. Compared with the MX’s fixed-axle design, the SX adds rear-swivel wheels, allowing athletes to turn and perform changes of direction under resistance. Its multi-position handles support pushing, pulling, and wheelbarrow movements.
Torque lists compatibility with hardwood, rubber flooring, turf, concrete, and outdoor pavement through its all-surface airless tires. That versatility could appeal to facilities and garage gym owners who want sled training without installing a dedicated turf lane.
Price and Availability
The TANK SX starts at $2,699, with free shipping listed on Torque’s website. The performance console is sold separately for $179. Torque also lists an Athlete Kit for $2,799 and a Complete Kit for $2,870, with the latter including the console and additional training accessories. Prices were checked on October 7, 2026.
For buyers seeking more resistance than the MX and more movement options from a four-wheel sled, the SX introduces a compelling combination. Its 303-pound build also makes it a substantial piece of equipment—something to factor into any home gym purchase.
