Trek Allant+ 9.9S

Trek is launching a new e-bike for 2020 called the Trek Allant+ 9.9 S. It looks similar to the Trek Super Commuter+ 8S, but under the hood, they have made some changes, specifically adding a new battery design from Bosch and cycling computer mount.

New 625WH Bosch Battery

While the Trek Super Commuter housed either a PowerPack Bosch 400 kWh or 500 kWh battery, the new Trek Allant+ incorporates the lastest Bosch Powertube technology for a whopping 625 kWh battery. It’s currently the longest range Bosch offers.

The new PowerTube 625 lets you enjoy long and mountainous rides, while still reserving plenty of energy for every adventure. Thanks to a rated capacity of 16.7 Ah and approx. 625 Wh energy content, the lithium-ion battery brings maximum ranges and altitudes within your grasp. The well-secured PowerTube 625 will not fall out of its housing, even on demanding terrain. But is still easily removed. After approx. 4.9 hours, the battery is fully charged with the Standard Charger, while half the charge is already attained after approx. 2.1 hours.

Trek houses the battery in the downtube to prevent nasty elements from damaging it. The Bosch PowerTube is also removable, allowing charging to be done indoors or out.

New for 2020 will be the Bosch Kiox cycling computer. It displays a lot more information and even provides the ability to charge your mobile device while cycling.

Bosch Performance Speed 350w Drive System

The Allant+ 9.9S features Bosch’s Performance Speed 350w electric motor allowing pedal assist up to 28mph. As such, the 9.9S is a class 3 e-bike and depending on where you live, may have certain e-bike restrictions based on its speed.

Trek outfits the Allant+ 9.9S with12-speed Shimano XT/SLX drivetrain, powerful 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes for all-weather stopping power, a Lync front, and rear lighting system, fenders, and a rear rack.

Bottom Line

Now all these new enhancements do come at a cost. The Trek Allant+ 9.9S is going to hit your wallet for a hefty $5,999.00. Ouch.
